LASER & more supplied the housings for the facade lighting on the world’s tallest building. Altogether 620 sectional housings and 950 tubular housings were made from satin-finished stainless steel. Polished covers and bead-blasted control panels were also produced for this project.
All stainless steel components were developed by LASER & more using innovative 3D design and were manufactured using 3D welding processes. The achieved reduction in weight and the cost savings associated with a considerable savings in material were of particular benefit to our client. Also noteworthy is the fact that the supplied quality was superior to that of our competitors.
12 different individual components with a material thickness of 2 to 10 mm were welded together.
Load tests were carried out to ensure that the structures would meet the high demands and withstand the enormous wind loads. The innovative method of 3D laser welding as well as the necessary expertise enabled LASER & more to deviate from the customary casting process and to opt for hollow manufacturing instead.
